I’ve been photographing things in “work mode” for so long that I seem to have forgotten what it feels like to photograph things because it’s what I want to do, or because I’m interested in the subject. (Not that I’m not interested in work, because I always am- but I set certain expectations on myself with work projects whether I mean I mean to or not.) We went to see Forest Swords at the Mod Club in Toronto this weekend and I brought my camera not because I had to but because I wanted to try and take some moody photographs of Matt performing. His music is very evocative and I had so much fun just listening and moving and snapping a quick photo here and there. The bass vibrating my bones, eyes closed, head back. Dine.
